Crown Mounted Compensators with Active Heave

I'm trying to find out more about the use of AHC (Active Heave Compensators) when fitted to Crown Mounted Compensators. I am working with a rig fitted with a NOV system but the AHC seems to have only limited functionality and the contractor is reluctant to use it for anything other than compensation for wireline logging operations. The rig's spec seems to indicate that it's AHC has wider functionality but contractor is not willing to use it. I have had good experience with drawworks AHC, but AHC with CMCs just doesn't seem to be fully developed.

Can anyone shed some light on the active heave on CMCs or point me in the right direction to learn more ?
