Dear,

Please, I want to ask a question about the grades of Drill pipes that are used inDirectional drilling regarding Short, medium & long radius.
Should we use premium or others.

Best regards,
Hamza

For DLS....... It is really fatigue issue on rotating which does not matter on gade E, G, S  etc.  6 degrees/30m max  for 5",  use 3 1/2" DP or less for higher DLS.  smaller OD- less fatigue.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your answer.
Just other thing, normally we should use pipes with great OD & good flexibility especially in high DLS. Am I correct
Ah, by the way, please if possible, what's the max deflection/deformation that can support  pipe (S-135)

Have a good day,
Hamza

Better be premium. You mean Grade E, G-105, S-135 on pipe which effects fatigue. Short answer without knowing more .S-135, but then you are also asking about torque capabilities of the  threads, XT, HT etc. - get yourself a copy of TH Hill DH-1 online- any version  , good reading.
