Pumping Hi-vis between two cement plugs

Hi,
Ones we got a losses (vertical well), decided to to pump 2 cement plugs, separated by a Hi-vis.
When asked a toolpusher about this Hi-vis, he said that it is to support the top cement or something like this ?
Please, could you exxplaine to me this.
