From the mid 90's supervisors, ops geologists, drilling contractor and key third party personnel often became more integrated in the planning of wells via a more multidisciplinary integrated and a far more disciplined project management approach. Some kept this simple and others made "mountains out of molehills" In my view. Because that's what intelligent oil field people generally do!

Where-as well's become more and more complex this is an area in my view where there is still room for organisational, planning, implementation and control measures improvements.
