Un-conventional Rig Designs

I am wondering if members have any experience of the benifits and/or
downsides of some of the more un-conventional rig designs available
on the market - singles rigs, hydraulic hoist rigs, rack and pinion
etc. We require a rig that can drill to 5000 m, has a mast rating of
around 600-750 klbs and is capable of operating in the desert in
Oman. If possible I am looking for information on any differences in
rig move times, tripping speeds, flat time perfomance, drilling
performance, maintenance issues etc between a non-conventional rig
that can meet out requirements and a similar specification standard
rig.

Any information you can provide would be very much appreciated.
