ensuring vertical hole

20 January 2007 Does anyone know of any tools / methods for ensuring vertical hole?
Poor directional control whilst air drilling long limestone sections
has contributed significantly to our well costs over the years.
Unfortunately the use of air foam does not lend itself to drilling
motors or MWD systems. Packed assemblies have been unable to resist
formation dip effects.

Suggestions welcome.
