18-5/8" Subsea Release: Dual Plugs ?
05 May 2013 Hi folksAt a recent DWOP, it was suggested that we consider the use of dual subsea-release wiper plugs for the cementation of the 18-5/8" casing in a 'deepwater' well offshore Indonesia.
There was a show of hands as to who had heard of, or used, such a set-up (vs. single plug). No-one raised their hand; 1500 years experience in the room.
What experience, if any, do members have of this ?
In addition, the plan is to pre-load the plugs (see previous discussions on this), so - if you have used double-plugs - any experience/comments about pre-loading them ?
Thanks
Dave
