Using Annular BOP for WL operations

Is it possible to close Annular BOP around wireline cable and strip the cable through it in case of well control situation?
Does anybody have any recommendations for shooting nipple? One worldwide service provider insists that shooting nipples are to be used only up to 3500 psi WHP, for higher pressures - only flanged spacers on top of drilling BOP.
