Chrome Tubing Handling & Running Procedures for use in the field
25 April 2017 Hi folksAt an upcoming CWOP, we plan to discuss the handling and running of chrome tubulars. The tubing in question is 4½" 25%Cr-125 15.1 ppf with JFE Bear connections. Thread compound will be API modified Best-o-Life.
The various tubing suppliers have guidance for handling tubulars, but we're hoping to be able to discuss/develop a 'practical' field guide to cover: laying out, picking up to the drill-floor (this is a land-rig), M/U and running.
If any of our members has an example 'field guide' and/or checklist that they can share with us, we would be able to get off to a flying start. In return, we would post the final version on this site in about 3 weeks time.
Many thanks
Dave
