Remedial cement job: 5'' liner in 6'' hole
06 December 2020Dear friends
We set 5'' Liner against reservoir section that has 3 sand bodies which need zonal isolation.
Liner Hanger successfully landed at desired depth. Before landed 200 m above 5'' liner differential stuck which cleared by spotting Black magic pill of Baker. Pumped main slurries, during displacement, dart latched at single wiper plug and sheared it. After that we pump liner volume, but in this case only 6 bbl pumped instead of 35 bbl and pressure suddenly build to 5000 psi. We stopped pump and bleed it. Just engage cementing unit again pressure rose to 5000 psi. Terminated cementing job. RIH with bit and tagged TOP of Dart / wiper plug just 10 m from PBR. Cleaned out Cement to top of landing collar. We must need to isolated these zones with cement. On log, it show cement raise 100 m above landing collar.
We perforated the 5'' liner to establish circulation behind 5'' Liner. Set PKR above perforated zone we observed pressure raised to 4000 psi with 20 gpm. On 2 gpm we observed circulation with low returns and pressure stable to 1500 psi.
We perforated again but have same result. These perforation above the sand zone. Liner hanger is set, but (the weight-set) integral liner top packer has not been set yet.
Mud is 1.12 SG KCl mud.
Please share your thought how we established circulation and cement these zone for proper isolation.
