Subsea multilateral wells challenges
28 April 2021Dear members,
I am currently working on ultra-deepwater field development (WD > 2000m) project at concept selection stage. One of the considered options is 2-lateral TAML-5 production wells with Open Hole Gravel Pack completion in both legs. The main concern for this option is very few (if any ?) projects combining subsea (floater), MLT, GP in both laterals, with junction depths >3500m.
It’s highly appreciated if you could share your experiences and comments on the following topics:
- Challenges for drilling multilateral wells from floaters
- Challenges for gravel packing 2-lateral wells
- Challenges with ML-junction depths >3500m
Thanks,
Alexander
