Corrosion Log OPEN HOLE in a Perforated Gas Well

We require to record a corrosion log to set casing patches across an open set of perforations that are producing water. The remaining perforations above and below the patch will produce gas. The well is stable with a 300 psi fluid overbalance and we have rig BOPs. I am insisting on Wireline PCE but the Geology dept seems to think that a fluid barrier and Rig BOPS are enough to perform the log Open hole. Gents, what are your thoughts?
