Learning curve
16 August 2012 Hi folks,We've been asked to post the following the question ..
Quote:
We have a multiple-well subsea development being planned (> 40 wells) and we are preparing budgets.
Can we apply a learning curve and if yes then what is considered acceptable. A lot of us don´t want to apply this as the wells and reservoirs get more complex with time and we will have different rigs, possibly swopping them out as circumstances dictate.
What are your thought on this ?
Such as :
- Have you applied a learning curve - yes or no ?
- If no, why not ?
- If yes, then :
- How did you determine what learning curve schedule to use ?
- How did you factor in well complexity (design) and changing reservoir conditions (increased risk of differential sticking etc.,)
- Did you factor in emerging technology (not yet proven, but likley to be in use 3 years from now)
- How did you 'compensate' for new rigs
And, on a more general, note .. what sort of allowance are members applying for a new rig with new personnel; compared to a 'hot' rig with consistent crews.
Thank you in advance
Dave
