Pros and Cons of Shark Bite

Dear members

At a recent Deepwater online-DWOP, the use of Shark Bite Anti-Rotation Device was discussed.

In addition to the traditional non-rotating, PDC-drillable cement wiper plugs, the team are planning to use the Shark Bite.

In my distant memory, I recall that that care is required when using this device; potential for it to contribute to a leaking plug set, due to the castellations in the Shark Bite.

It would be interesting to hear recent experiences and best practices from our members.
