Workover of subhydrostatic wells in offshore oil field
01 April 2009 Dear ProfessionalsI am a well services man having experience of work over for more that 33yrs in land & offshore rigs. Presently for the last 22 years , I am engaged in offshore operations.
I had problem in working over subhydrostatic wells where wells are drinking s/water and loss rate is approx more than 300-400 BPH.Sometimes even there is no return and various type lot of LCM pills are needed to bring back well in managable condition. Even sometimes 20 pills are required. Our is mostly limestone formation.
I would like to know from other offshore operators and their practices particularly to contain losses. What will be procedure to handle such type of wells keeping offshore safety & regulations in considerations.
