Overpressure protection for HP pumping units

Dear workover and well intervention experts!

Overpressure in wells workovers and well intervention may cause damage to well integrity with potential loss of well, also it may create damage to surface equipment with huge cost and reputation impact (and potential harm to people safety). 

Asking your experience regarding overpressure protection controls for HP pumping equipment (cement unit, acid pumping unit, etc.) when performing well workover and well intervention activities. 

What industry regulations do you use (I have seen API-520 and API-521, but looking for other sources)?

What controls do you select to apply during planning:

• PRVs (for lines pressure testing and pumping)
• Burst discs installed on HP units
• Overpressure shutdown system (OPS) installed on HP units
• Operator control

What requirements for Overpressure shutdown system (OPS)?
