Completion in high corrosive with carbon steel liner

31 December 2010 Dear all,

We have high corrosive well (CO2 30%, H2S 100 ppm, 400 F) with about 10,000 psi BHP. The well was left with 7" carbon steel liner. One of the option is to side track & run 7" chrome liner, with more cost to spend.
Another option in to complete the well as is condition. The completion will be with Chrome material. The main issue will be CS liner expose to corrosive fluid, especially at the packer that may lead packer to leak. Any case/experience or input regarding the completion will be appreciated. Is swellable packer-HT is better than production packer in this case?
