Pipe-conveyed logging vs. conventional
24 February 2011 Hi folks,At a recent Risk Assessment for a HTHP well, we were discussing the relative merits of acquiring e-line log data conventionally or pipe-conveyed (PCL).
BHT is 360deg F.
TD is 2800m. Vertical well.
400m open hole section (8.5" hole).
Synthetic Based Mud.
Jack-up.
We will have mud coolers.
We would value the experience of other forum members with regards to over-heating the e-line tools .. and whether you have found the ability to circulate through the PCL string and potentially cool the wellbore outweighs the time that the tools will be exposed to elevated temperatures (due to the slower logging process). Plus any other comments you would care to make.
Kind regards
Dave Taylor
