Temperature Effects On CaBr Brines
09 February 2012 I am looking for feedback on possible weight loss of CaBr due to low tempertures in the pits. Temperatures here in the Danish North Sea have been as low as -15C for a prolonged period, circ 3 weeks and the density of the brine measured has dropped from 13.8ppg to 12.5ppg. Looking at the usual temperature charts for these Brines shows it is stable over varying temperatures. Contamination is obviously the first point of investigation, this so far does not seem to be the issue. Could these lower temperatures have such large effects on weight?7 Answer(s)
