Effects of using WBM instead of SOBM in conducting LOT and FIT

19 May 2014 Dear all,

In drilling one of onshore wells, WBM (water based mud)which was used to drill 17½ hole section was used to carry out FIT (formation integrity test) in stead of SOBM which will  be used to drill subsequent hole section (12¼"). What is the effect of using WBM instead of SOBM on the result of the test? Granted that LOT/FIT procedure differs from operator to operator,what is best practice in conducting FIT/LOT (leak off test)?
