Completion Design for water injectors
12 August 2008 We have recently had poor injectivity results with a few of ournewly completed water injector wells in Palaeocene sandstone. We
drilled the reservoir section with a sized salt water based mud and
completed them with sand screens and gravel packed using a saturated
brine fluid. An enzyme breaker was spotted across the screens and
left while the upper completion was run. Due to them being subsea
wells a short backflow was performed (only one tubing volume) before
the injection test.
How do other operators complete their water injectors in similar
reservoirs and what sort of injectivity results have been seen?
Thanks
Rohan
