Shooting nipples

In certain operating areas it is now a requirement to have a fully integrated and tested pressure system for any potentially 'live work' activities.

Therefore typical home made 'shooting nipples' must receive dispensation in any well workover, well services or intervention program where a shooting nipple is used and a riser, casing or wire-line lubricator etc is placed on top. 

Apart from a patented HSPN 'high pressure shooting nipple' that exists, what else are others doing in other parts of the world when a shooting nipple is being used and required. 

i.e. for perforating, production logs, well intervention, work-over well services operations etc when a shooting nipple is required to be rigged up and run. 

Note: As a word of warning there are case 'blow out' studies where home made shooting nipples in certain situations and scenarios have resulted in serious operating loss to operators.

and why 'fit for purpose' fully pressure tested and compliant equipment particularly in todays complex well's barrier and integrity compliance age should always be fully met.
