Standard Interpretation: 13Cr Tubing - Surface Condition as per API 5C5

Hello everyone,

After reading the API 5C5 (especifically 7. “Material Requirements”) i have the following question:

For 13Cr grades why is the following statement :

“The internal surface of the pipe shall be free from scale after the final heat treatment. ”

(apparently?) exclusive for Cr-grades with 80 ksi yield strength and not for example P110-13Cr?

What is the impact of an untreated inner surface in the overall performance of said tubular under field conditions? Has anyone experience with that?
