Downhole Chem Injection

Colleagues

I appreciate the requirements to have check and a back pressure valve on a line used to inject fluid downhole.

Fluids typically injected into the production stream are inhibitors and suppressors. But does anyone have experience or awareness of an operation where hydrocarbons are injected downhole via a chem injection / control line that penetrates through the wellhead / XT.

The application is the injection of a hydrocarbon thinner to mix with heavy crude at the intake of an ESP pump.

Thanks

Alistair
