Workover on1980 well not able to flow oil to surface due to damage during completion

There is now a workover on this old Tunisian  well which never flowed oil to surface due to completion damage.

I appreciate that  I'm not giving much information - a relative has a few shares in the company and that's all they've been given- but I am wondering if anyone has any idea on success rate of such an operation. 

A 43-year old well seems a long time to be lying dormant/in disrepair. I'm wondering also if there's been a huge improvement in technology since 1980 to make this more viable or just an oil price increase
