Milling 4 1/2in production upwards with Coil Tubing

14 June 2023

To P&A a production well, is intended to Perf & Squeeze in the 4-½in tubing, to set a cement barrier plug inside and in the annulus outside the tubing (9-5/8in).

If setting the cement plug fails, the plan is to section mill the 4-½in tubing upwards to be able to set a mechanical barrier as an anchor for the cement plug in the 9-5/8in production casing (50 deg inclination).

Does anyone have any experience with this, from the point on milling tools, barries as anchor for the cement plug and procedures in general?

Thanks
