Use of surface and/or downhole debris screens

SUBJECT : Use of debris filters

We have been experiencing repeated problems with foreign material
partially or fully blocking downhole pulsers in our MWD tools.

We are using 5"” HT-55 drillpipe. We are looking at how to avoid
the debris getting into the system in the first place.

Meanwhile, several solutions are being considered to remove any
debris that does get into the system, including :
1. Downhole filters
2. Surface filters (installed in a tool-joint or TDS sub)
3. In-line Basket filters

Please could members advise on their recent experiences with the
latest filters and/or advise of any other tools and equipment that
would help us overcome these problems.
