Through-Tubing Abandonment

Morning all,

I am trying to gather some information on people's experience with through-tubing abandonment. Just to erase any uncertainty, I am referring to leaving the X-mas tree in place while abandoning the well.

By leaving the tree in place we will save a lot of time and could potentially look at performing rigless abandonments in the future. However, at the moment I accept that we may need a rig to perform some tasks.

Does anybody have any experience of punching tubing and pumping cement or using section mills or thermite to remove sections of the tubing? I am interested in finding out the success rate and how any abandonment barriers were verified.

Kind regards,

Andrew Hood
