Milling operations Optimisation & cementing across milled interval

Appreciate if you can share your experiences in milling through two casing scheme in offshore oil wells which we plan to plugged and abandon all the relevant intervals.

Challenges faced so far are:

(1) Unexpectedly low milling ROP (< 1 metre/hr) using latest milling cutting structure mills

(2) We have been using optimum mud or fluids to carry out swarf and also installed ROMAR Swarf handling system to prevent or minimise HSE risks in these type of operations.

Interval is generally vertical less than 500 m below mudline and section milling through  (~30m window in 9-5/8” 47# N80 & 13-3/8" 68# L80 casing from approx. 250mMDRT) in a single milling BHA.

Any ideas on how to improve milling performance without compromising hole cleaning of generated swarf from the improved milling ROP. Perhaps BHA design (more Drillcollar , heaviwate drillpipe etc)

Thanks

Kind Rgds

Adrian.
