DeltaTek Global - New Technologies

18 May 2021

Do you work in the drilling industry? Can you help us with market research for a new technology solution aimed at improving the drilling market?

In a similar market research exercise performed during 2020, we identified that 63% of well construction industry professionals reported that achieving the desired top of cement when primary cementing certain casing strings presents a real challenge, particularly in riserless sections.

DeltaTek wishes to explore this challenge further and understand if a temperature-based derivative of the SeaCure Cementing technology may be considered useful in helping solve this challenge.

SeaCure enables the inner annulus within the casing bore to be filled with fluid of a pre-determined temperature, prior to cementing. This temperature would transfer into the circulation fluid interfacing with the formation. Research indicates that this additional heat may influence parameters such as rock stress, fracture gradient, wellbore fluid viscosity and ECDs.
