Specification of Subsurface safety valve
11 June 2010 Hi my friends,We are designing a completion for a sour Gas well = 10,000 ppm H2S, 28 % CO2 with 4200 psi BHP with 4 1/2" completion tubing.
For the subsurface safety valve (inconel material) there are 2 types :
One with a self equalising feature and the other is without.
a. SSSV with self equalising --> some statements say that the equalising feature is important, to equalise pressure before opening the valve.
b. SSSV without self equalising --> some statements say that the equalising port (of the self-equalising valve) can become an additional leak for sour gas, and that the port can be eroded during gas flow.
I'd appreciate your comments and experience on this.
Thanks.
