String weights whilst tripping

30 August 2010 I have observed an unusual state whilst drilling vertical wells in Kurdistan.
When pulling out of hole the string weight actually decreases slightly.
Rotating the string is free and going in the hole the weight decreases naturally with hole drag.
Why would the string weight decrease when we are pulling out.??

All other drilling conduct is normal.

Can anyone please give me an explanation.
