Drilling and cementing practices for paleosol formations

Hi,

I'm planning a well that will encounter a significant section (>600mTVD) of an interbedded formation consisting of channel deposits which are classed as paleosols (ie soils).  They are not considered reactive and appear to be very friable in offest wells due to its paleo depositional environment. As the muds have dried out, dessication cracks are produced which have been preserved as a plane of weakness.

We are looking at implementing low energy drilling practices but would like to hear about specific learnings regarding successful drilling, evaluation and cementing practices.

Regards

Bruce
