Jackup spudcan scouring problems

Have there been any new developments related to the prevention/mitigation of jackup spudcan scouring problems.  A recent platform location required 12,000 sandbags during a 2 year drilling campaign. Another rig encountered settling issues after a few weeks on location and may require repositioning.   I see there was a joint industry project started in 2008 (OSCAR) to investigate this problem.
