Reaming Practices & Bit Balling
11 February 2016 Hi,I have two general queries which on which I wanted the opinion of how things are done elsewhere
First,
We have a standard practice that ream twice at every connection after stand down, and spot a hi-vis pill, which I personally am not in favor of. [ Done to prevent tight hole and hole cleaning issues].
What are the practices you guys follow and the basis for them and is reaming a necessary practice that should be done after drilling every stand?
Secondly,
In our surface sections we have always faced bit & stabs balling, now the issue is, we cannot have enough HSI to clean the hole as we go with open nozzles since keeping nozzles would limit our ability to pump LCM and that is a major concern. BTW Detergent pills have not been successful as well.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
