Factors in Determining Shoe Track Length
12 February 2016 Does anyone know the logic behind having a two joint shoe track and more. What I need to understand is what are the factors which need to be taken into account while determining the shoe track. The longer the shoe track is the longer you spend rig time to drill it out. So what are the main criterias which determine the lenght of the sheo track.
1) Water depth
2) Good shoe
3) Casing type ( Production or Intermediate)
4) Type of mud (high viscous, low viscosity)
5) Single plug or double plug subsea
6) Land or Offshore wells
