Connection Time Optimization

We 've been applying drill off 5 minutes every stand drilled prior making connection, and wash & ream one single every one stand drilled. This new best practice has improved the ROP almost double than previous best practices which is wash & ream complete one stand every stand drilled, especially when drilling ERD or long section well. Midway wiper trip is dictated by hole condition. I need your feedback on the above best practices. What is pro and con?

I would like to hear other best practices for optimizing drilling connection time.
