Resin generally needs to be pumped separately. It can be designed to a certain density so that it will sink to the top of the cement and set and by doing that it can be pumped into the annulus from the wellhead. This is known as the freefall placement but only works in water based fluids.
Normal placement techniques for resin are traditional plug placement using tubing or coiled tubing or using a dump bailer. The free fall technique requires some testing with regards to setting times and temperatures.
