core operations

07 March 2009 Here in Angola we have been coring in 12 1/4" using Corepro's soft catch system. Results have been mixed, Recovery is generally high but we have had issues with jamming. Particulary at sand/shale interfaces. We would like to be able to fill barrels and believe the soft catch retainer may be triggering the jam.
Does anyone have experience running this system - have they experienced similar issues with jamming??
We are resticted to running Corepro gear, does anyone have any recommendations for preventing jams in relatively soft interbedded formations?
