Hi

I would like to know why we often use the flow coupling??

In addition to what Daniel said is the rule of thumb which indicates that any time a 10% ID reduction of completion conduit implies use of flow couplings.
Install it in the completion string at least downstream of the ID reduction.

They are used where local changes in ID could create turbulence and subsequent erossion. Flow regimes or critical velocities could be modelled/calculated.
