Corrosion WBM Reservoir Drill-in Fluid

Dear All,

we recently came across a case where high pitting corrosion was observed in the riser, flexjoint, surface piping as well as the drillpipe.

The Reservoir Drill-in Fluid was DrillFlow by Baker.

It was suggested that the mud caused Microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) but I have a hard time believing that the mud is the sole root cause.

We are checking CO2 levels of the reservoir but has anyone else had this pitting issues with a Reservoir Drill-in fluid before and if so, what chemical in the fluid was the root cause?
