API 16AR - Pressure Contact (Metal-to-Metal) Sealing Surfaces

Hi there.

I am looking for some input on the phrase being used in API 16AR section 4.5.8.2: Acceptance Criteria for Surfaces Other than Pressure Contact (Metal-to-Metal) Sealing Surfaces.

Does this only refer to metal to metal seals? Or all sealing surfaces? There are some allowances for relevant indications, but surely even on a elastomer sealing surfaces no indications can be allowed?
