conductor driving

We plan to drive the 30" conductor for a jack up exploration well.

The problem is that the expected depth of refusal is borderline deep enough ( may not have enough shoe strength to support fluid column to surface)

We want to optimize the driving operation to ensure we get the conductor as deep as possible.

We have two conductor connection types available . One is externally flush the other has an external upset.

My initial though was the flush slimmer connection would be easier to drive but there is an alternative theory that the connector upset will create a small annular space that will reduce skin friction and allow deeper driving.

Any idea which will work best?
