Re-entry on a 60 years old well or drill a new infill well to drain remaining oil?
02 November 2024Hi Gents,
We are looking into the old onshore wells (60 years old) to evaluate the possibilities to drain the remaining oil in place. The options we are currently evaluating are the re-entry on the old well or drill new infill wells.
We do not have much experience in re-entry on well that have been permanently P&A (as per API reg.).
Could you give us some insides on this matter?
Do you think it is better to drill a new well or to re-entry?
Regards,
CSJ
