Failed Liner Cement Job
25 September 2009 One of our partners in the Far East has suffered a failure during a liner cementing job. The full situation is described in the attached, but basically we have a cemented in liner running tool some 21' above the 7" liner in 9 5/8" casing with some 130 joints of 5" drillpipe above that after a first back off attempt. The question is whether to continue to fish (washover?) or to cut and run!Any thoughts or comments based on previous experience would be much appreciated.
