I wrote:

"It was not until, yesterday (Friday 9th September 2022), when I woke up, that I realised for the first time in my 61 years, that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was not there anymore.

  • Not there to help make me feel just that little bit safer.
  • Not there to make me feel just a little bit more proud to be British.
  • Not there to slightly more brighten my days with her smile.

She made the following promise at Her Coronation in 1953:

"I have in sincerity pledged myself to your service, as so many of you are pledged to mine. Throughout all my life and with all my heart I shall strive to be worthy of your trust."

There are few people who I can think of who can close their eyes and draw their last breath whilst looking back on a life well-served.

As she joins her beloved Philip, I thank her for her service and her love for mankind, irrespective of their creed, race, colour or religion.

God Bless the Queen!

God Save the King!
